Graklink Comparison
The best QR menu tool depends on whether you want a code or a whole ordering platform.
Updated July 21, 2026
What is the best QR code generator for a restaurant menu?
For most restaurants the best menu code is a dynamic QR code you buy once and can repoint anytime, and by total cost that is Graklink at a one-time $7.99 with no subscription. A menu changes constantly (specials, prices, a seasonal swap), so you need a code you can edit without reprinting, and the table tents and window decals you laminate are meant to outlast a billing cycle, not end with one. If you want a full online-ordering system built around the code rather than just a link to your menu, MENU TIGER is a real option, as long as you accept a monthly bill and a menu that goes offline if you cancel. If your menu genuinely never changes, a free static code from QR Code Monkey will do, but a static code cannot be edited after printing.
This is a tool-picking guide. For how to set up and point a restaurant code, see our restaurant menu guide. For the broader, non-restaurant comparison, see the dynamic QR generator roundup.

What should a restaurant look for in a menu-code tool?
Four things decide it, and they are more specific than the usual feature checklist.
- Can you change the menu without reprinting? A menu moves, so the code has to be dynamic, meaning it points at a redirect you can repoint. A price change or a new specials page then never means new table tents.
- Does the code die if you stop paying? This is the one that burns restaurants. A code on a laminated tent circulates for years, and if it stops redirecting the day a subscription lapses, a diner ends up pointing a phone at a dead menu.
- What does it cost when you need several codes? Most rooms want more than one: dine-in, takeout, the window, maybe a review link on the check. What matters is the price for the whole set over a few years, not the headline for a single code.
- Is it locked to a restaurant platform, or flexible? Some tools are a full ordering stack you commit to. Others are just a code you point wherever you like (your site, a hosted PDF, your Toast or Square link). Flexibility is cheaper and easy to leave. A platform does more but owns more.
How do the main options compare?
Here is each tool a restaurant actually considers, with the price sourced and the catch stated plainly.
| Tool | Menu code price | Model | If you stop paying | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Graklink | $7.99 once | One-time | Nothing; the code keeps working | A durable menu code you own |
| QR Tiger | From $84/year (12 codes) | Subscription | Dynamic codes stop working (their FAQ) | Larger multi-location campaigns |
| MENU TIGER | About $17/month | Subscription | The menu goes offline | A full in-house ordering system |
| Bitly | About $120/year (5 QR/mo) | Subscription | Keeps redirecting, but you can no longer change where it points or see scans | A link platform that also does QR |
| QR Code Monkey | Free (static only) | Free | Not applicable | A menu that will never change |
Prices verified live 2026-07-21. Now the honest rundown of each.
Graklink (what we make). A dynamic menu code is a one-time $7.99, and it never stops redirecting for a billing reason. Change tonight’s specials from your phone and every printed tent updates. When you need several, bulk pricing runs $5.99 each for 2 to 9 codes, $4.99 for 10 to 24, and $3.99 at 25 and up, with the design charged once for the batch. Optional Pro analytics is $99 a year and only ever adds scan data; it never decides whether a code works. The honest limit: we are not an ordering platform, so if you want built-in online ordering and table-side checkout, we are not that.
QR Tiger. A capable campaign tool if you run codes at scale across locations. Dynamic plans start around $84 a year (12 codes) and climb to about $444 a year (600 codes), and a free tier gives you 3 dynamic codes. The catch for a restaurant is durability: QR Tiger’s own FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires, so a lapsed subscription means a dead menu on tents you already printed.
MENU TIGER (owned by QR Tiger). The most restaurant-specific option here, and the fairest reason to pay monthly. It is a full ordering platform, with a digital menu, table-side ordering, and payments, rather than a code that points at a link. There is a free tier (capped at 200 QR-code orders a month) and a Regular plan at $17 a month. Two honest trade-offs: you are committing to their platform, and the menu goes offline if you cancel (their terms say the account is deactivated on cancellation).
Bitly. A strong link-management platform that also makes QR codes, best if you already live in Bitly for short links. The cheapest paid plan is about $10 a month billed annually ($120 a year) for 5 QR codes a month. For a restaurant, the thing to know is what canceling costs you. The code keeps redirecting to wherever it last pointed, but Bitly’s free plan cannot change a destination or show scan data, both are paid features. So a printed menu code is effectively frozen: it still works, but you can no longer update the menu it points to. For a menu that changes with the season, that is the whole game.
QR Code Monkey. Genuinely good and genuinely free, but static only. That is fine for a code whose destination will never change, and a static code does not expire. For a menu it is the wrong shape: a static code bakes the link into the pattern, so the day your menu moves, every printed code is dead and you are reprinting. It funnels anyone who needs a dynamic code to a paid sibling. If you are unsure which kind you need, our static vs dynamic explainer lays out the difference.
Do you need MENU TIGER, or just a QR code?
You need MENU TIGER (or a platform like it) only if you want the ordering system, not just the menu. If a guest should scan, browse a live menu, order, and pay at the table without flagging down a server, a platform earns its monthly fee. If a guest should scan and simply see your menu (a page on your site, a hosted PDF, your existing Toast or Square link), then all you need is a code that points there, and a one-time code is far cheaper and not tied to anyone’s stack. Most independents want the second thing. Buy the platform when you actually want the platform, not when you only need a working menu code.
Will my menu code stop working if I cancel?
With Graklink, no. A printed Graklink code never stops redirecting because of a billing event. The only two things that can ever stop it are using it for abuse (phishing, malware, fraud, illegal content) or deleting your own account. Never a missed payment. That is the whole reason to buy a menu code once instead of renting it. The subscription tools behave differently, and it is worth reading their terms before you laminate anything: QR Tiger’s FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires, and MENU TIGER’s menu goes offline on cancel. Bitly is the nuanced one, so be precise about it: the code keeps redirecting, but on the free plan you can no longer change where it points or see its scans, so a printed menu code still works yet can no longer be updated.
What does a menu code cost when you need several?
Buying once beats renting the moment you print more than a throwaway. Four codes (dine-in, takeout, window, review link) cost Graklink about $24 one time and never again. The same four on a subscription is a bill that repeats every year the tents are on the tables, and the codes go dark the year you stop.
| Setup | Graklink | A subscription tool |
|---|---|---|
| One menu code | $7.99 once | From $84/year (QR Tiger), forever |
| Four codes (dine-in, takeout, window, review) | About $24 once ($5.99 each) | Still the annual plan, every year |
| Ten codes across two locations | About $50 once ($4.99 each) | A higher tier, every year |
| A built-in ordering system | Not offered | About $17/month (MENU TIGER) |
The one time a recurring bill is fair is when you genuinely want what it buys: MENU TIGER’s ordering stack, or QR Tiger’s multi-location campaign tooling. For a menu code that just has to keep working, a one-time purchase is the easy call.

Common questions
What is the best QR code generator for a restaurant menu?
For most restaurants it is a dynamic code you buy once and can repoint anytime, which by total cost is Graklink at a one-time $7.99 with no subscription. If you want a full ordering system built around the code, MENU TIGER is a real option on a monthly plan. If your menu will never change, a free static code from QR Code Monkey works, but it cannot be edited after printing.
Will my restaurant's QR menu stop working if I cancel?
With Graklink, no. A printed Graklink code never stops redirecting for a billing event; only using it for abuse or deleting your own account can stop it. Subscription tools behave differently: QR Tiger's own FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires, and MENU TIGER's menu goes offline on cancel.
Do I need MENU TIGER, or just a QR code?
You need MENU TIGER (or a platform like it) only if you want the ordering system, where a guest scans, browses, orders, and pays at the table. If a guest just needs to see your menu, a code that points at your existing menu page or ordering link is far cheaper and not locked to anyone's platform.
What is the cheapest way to get several menu codes for dine-in, takeout, and the window?
Buying them once. Graklink bulk pricing is $5.99 each for 2 to 9 codes, $4.99 for 10 to 24, and $3.99 at 25 and up, with the design charged once for the batch. Four codes cost about $24 one time versus an annual subscription that repeats every year the tents are on the tables.
Can I change my menu without reprinting the table tents?
Yes, if the code is dynamic. A dynamic code points at a redirect you control, so you update the destination from your phone and every printed tent, decal, and to-go bag points at the new menu instantly. A static code bakes the link into the pattern, so a menu change means a reprint.
Are free QR menu codes actually free?
Free static codes are genuinely free (QR Code Monkey and Graklink both offer them), but a static code cannot be edited after printing, so it is the wrong shape for a menu that changes. Most free dynamic codes are free to create and then stop working or lose features unless you keep paying, so read the terms before you print.
