QR Code Creator review: honest pricing, and the one sentence you should read before you print

What does QR Code Creator cost?

Three plans, all billed annually:

Their pricing page adds, plainly, “Tax is not included in the displayed prices.”

You start with a seven-day free trial. Not a dollar, not $1.95. Free, and then a real decision.

Basic works out to $133.20 for the first year, and covers three dynamic codes.

One caveat on those three numbers, and it is ours, not theirs. Everything else on this page is a quote from a page we could archive, so if QR Code Creator reworded a clause tomorrow you could still go and read what it said today. The prices are the exception. Their pricing page is built in a way the Internet Archive cannot capture: the archive saved the page and came back with no prices in it. So the record we have for $11.10, $15.58 and $46 is a screenshot we took on 16 July 2026, which is our word rather than an independent one.

We are telling you that because the rest of this page asks you to check us. Go and look at their pricing page. If it disagrees with the table above, believe them and not us, and we would appreciate the email.

Credit where it is due

We looked at a lot of QR generators that buy Google ads, and most of them run a version of the same trick: a dollar or two to get your card on file, then $39.99 or $49 a month once the week is up.

QR Code Creator does not do that, and it is worth saying so before we say anything else.

Their trial is free and it is labelled as a trial. Their prices are on a page, in dollars, with the tax caveat stated rather than sprung. Their terms name a real company at a real address in Dublin. And they put the deactivation warning on their own homepage, in front of you, rather than at clause 13.4 where nobody reads.

Most usefully, they wrote a help centre article that answers the question the whole industry avoids. It has a date on it and a plain title: “What happens to my QR codes when I cancel my subscription?”

That is more honesty than we found anywhere else in this corner of the market.

The sentence to read before you print anything

Here is that article’s answer, in full:

“Your QR codes will still be active until the end of your subscription plan. Once your plan expires, all created dynamic QR codes will be invalid.”

And their article on the trial ending:

“When your trial or subscription ends, your QR codes are automatically deactivated. This means they will no longer be scannable, and anyone who tries to access your content will see an inactive/expired result.”

Read that second one twice, because of three words in it: “or subscription ends.”

Almost every company in this market will tell you what happens when a free trial lapses. Nearly none of them will tell you what happens in year three, when the card on file expires, or the person who set it up has left, or $133.20 stops making sense for three links. QR Code Creator will tell you. The codes become invalid.

That is not a gotcha. It is the honest description of what you are buying, which is a rented redirect, priced per year.

How do I cancel QR Code Creator?

Through your account, and their help centre covers it directly. Their terms also note that if you let a trial lapse and do not subscribe within 90 days, they may delete the account entirely.

If you are already a customer reading this because you are deciding whether to renew, the thing to understand is the sequence: the codes work until the plan expires, then they do not. Anything already printed goes dark at the same moment.

What we would do instead

We sell QR codes, so weigh this accordingly.

A Graklink dynamic code is $7.99, once. Change where it points as often as you like, forever. There is no subscription to lapse because you already paid the entire fee. $7.99 once.

Their Basic plan is $133.20 a year for three codes. Three Graklink codes are $23.97, one time. The price of a single year of their cheapest plan buys 16 Graklink codes outright, and year two costs nothing.

We are not claiming to be better people than QR Code Creator. They are more forthcoming than most of their competitors and more forthcoming than some companies twenty times their size. The disagreement is narrower than that, and it is about one design decision: whether a printed thing should depend on an active subscription.

We think it should not, because print outlives billing. So our terms say the part theirs cannot: “A printed Graklink code never stops redirecting because of a billing event.” Exactly two things can stop a Graklink code, and neither is money: using it for phishing, malware, fraud or anything illegal, or deleting your own account.

If you would rather rent, rent from them. They will at least tell you what you are renting.
