Graklink Comparison
A small business needs a few codes that keep working, not a platform with a monthly bill.
Updated July 22, 2026
What is the best QR code generator for a small business?
For most small businesses the best code is a dynamic QR code you buy once and can repoint anytime, and by total cost that is Graklink at a one-time $7.99 with no subscription. The reason is the shape of a small business, not a feature list. You need a few codes, not a few hundred: one on the window, one on the flyer, one on the business card, a review link on the receipt. Those go on printed things that circulate for months or years, and they point at destinations that change (a new booking tool, a moved landing page, this season’s offer). So you want a code you can edit without reprinting, that keeps working long after you paid for it, and that does not come with a bill you have to remember.
If instead you are running a large fleet of codes and want a management console with a team on it, Uniqode is a genuinely strong platform. And if a code’s destination will truly never change, a free static code from QR Code Monkey will do, as long as you accept that it cannot be edited after printing.
This is a tool-picking guide for a small business. For the broader, all-purpose comparison see the dynamic QR generator roundup; for the pay-once argument in full, see QR codes with no subscription.

What should a small business look for in a QR tool?
Five things decide it, and they are shaped by having a few codes and no IT department, not a marketing budget to defend.
- How many codes do you actually need? Most small businesses need a handful, and pricing that assumes hundreds of codes and a team is priced for someone else. Match the tool to your real count.
- What does it cost over a few years, not this month? A low monthly number is still a bill that repeats every year the code is in use. Compare the multi-year total against a one-time price.
- Does the code die if you stop paying? Your codes are on printed materials that outlast any given month. A code that goes dark, or starts throwing an ad, when a subscription lapses turns your own flyer against you.
- Can you edit it without reprinting? Destinations change. A dynamic code lets you repoint from your phone; a static one is frozen at the print shop.
- Is it simple, or a platform to learn? A solo operator wants a code that works, not a console to administer. Save the platform for when you genuinely need one.
How do the main options compare?
Here is each tool a small business actually considers, with the price sourced and the catch stated plainly.
| Tool | Price | Model | If you stop paying | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Graklink | $7.99 once | One-time | Nothing; the code keeps working | A few durable codes you own |
| QR Tiger | From $84/year (12 codes) | Subscription | Dynamic codes stop working (their FAQ) | Running many codes at scale |
| Uniqode / TQRCG | Uniqode from $9/mo; TQRCG free (2 ad codes) | Subscription / freemium | Uniqode deactivates; TQRCG keeps 2 with a 3-second ad | A platform to manage a code fleet |
| Bitly | About $120/year (5 QR/mo) | Subscription | Keeps redirecting, but you cannot change it or see scans | A link platform that also does QR |
| QR Code Monkey | Free (static only) | Free | Not applicable | A code that will never change |
Prices verified live: Graklink and Uniqode/TQRCG on 2026-07-22, the rest on 2026-07-21. Now the honest rundown of each.
Graklink (what we make). A dynamic code is a one-time $7.99, and it never stops redirecting for a billing reason. Edit where it points from your phone, and every printed code updates. When you need a few, bulk pricing runs $5.99 each for 2 to 9 codes, $4.99 for 10 to 24, and $3.99 at 25 and up, design charged once. Optional Pro analytics is $99 a year and only ever adds scan data; it never decides whether a code works. The honest limit: we are a simple, own-it-once product, not a team platform, so if you need seat management and an enterprise console, we are not that.
QR Tiger. A capable campaign tool if you run codes at scale. Dynamic plans start around $84 a year (12 codes) and climb to about $444 a year (600 codes), with a free tier of 3 dynamic codes. The catch for a small business is durability and cost: you are paying yearly, and QR Tiger’s own FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires, so a lapsed subscription means dead codes on materials you already printed.
Uniqode (and its The QR Code Generator, TQRCG). The most platform-like option here, and a genuinely strong one: Uniqode holds 4.8 out of 5 across more than 500 G2 reviews, with bulk tools, team seats, and deep analytics. Its own plans run from $9 a month billed yearly (15 codes) up to $399 a month. Its free-facing TQRCG gives you two dynamic codes at no cost. Two honest catches for a small business: it is priced and built for managing many codes, which is more than most small shops need, and dynamic codes deactivate if you stop paying. On Uniqode a scan then hits an error page; on TQRCG up to two codes survive but play a 3-second ad before your page loads. (TQRCG is not the same as Bitly’s qr-code-generator.com; see our Graklink vs Uniqode page.)
Bitly. A strong link-management platform that also makes QR codes, best if you already live in Bitly for short links. The cheapest paid plan is about $10 a month billed annually ($120 a year) for 5 QR codes a month. For a small business the thing to know is what canceling costs you: the code keeps redirecting to wherever it last pointed, but Bitly’s free plan cannot change a destination or show scan data, both are paid features. So a printed code is effectively frozen: it still works, but you can no longer update where it goes or see how it did.
QR Code Monkey. Genuinely good and genuinely free, but static only. That is fine for a code whose destination will never change, and a static code does not expire. For anything that might move, it is the wrong shape: a static code bakes the link into the pattern, so the day the destination changes, every printed code is dead and you are reprinting. It funnels anyone who needs a dynamic code to a paid sibling. Unsure which kind you need? Our static vs dynamic explainer lays out the difference.
Do you actually need a subscription?
Most small businesses do not. A subscription earns its keep when you run many codes, need several people on an account, or want reporting deep enough to justify to someone. If that is you, Uniqode or QR Tiger are real options and they do that job well. But if you need a few codes that point at your menu, your booking page, your shop, or a review link, a one-time dynamic code does that without a recurring bill, and without a way for a missed payment to switch a printed code off. Buy the platform when you want the platform, not when you only need a working code.
Will my code stop working if I cancel?
With Graklink, no. A printed Graklink code never stops redirecting because of a billing event. The only two things that can ever stop it are using it for abuse (phishing, malware, fraud, illegal content) or deleting your own account. Never a missed payment, and never an ad over your link. The subscription tools each behave differently, and it is worth knowing before you print: QR Tiger’s FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires; Uniqode deactivates dynamic codes on cancel and shows a scanner an error page, while its TQRCG keeps up to two alive with a 3-second ad; Bitly keeps redirecting but locks editing and analytics behind the paid plan. Owning the code once is how you avoid all of it.
What does it cost when you need a few codes?
Buying once beats renting the moment you print more than one. Three codes (window, flyer, review link) cost Graklink about $18 one time and never again. The same three on a subscription is a bill that repeats every year the codes are up, and the codes go dark or lock the year you stop.
| Setup | Graklink | A subscription tool |
|---|---|---|
| One code | $7.99 once | From $84/year (QR Tiger) or $9/month (Uniqode), forever |
| Three codes (window, flyer, review) | About $18 once ($5.99 each) | Still the recurring plan, every year |
| Ten codes | About $50 once ($4.99 each) | A higher tier, every year |
| A team console for many codes | Not offered | Uniqode, from $9/month and up |
The one time a recurring bill is fair is when you genuinely want what it buys: a management platform for a code fleet, or campaign tooling at scale. For a small business that just needs a few codes to keep working, a one-time purchase is the easy call.

Common questions
What is the best QR code generator for a small business?
For most small businesses it is a dynamic code you buy once and can repoint anytime, which by total cost is Graklink at a one-time $7.99 with no subscription. Small businesses usually need only a handful of codes and put them on printed things that outlast a billing cycle, so owning beats renting. If you need to manage a large fleet of codes with a team, Uniqode is a strong platform. If a code will genuinely never change, a free static code from QR Code Monkey works but cannot be edited after printing.
Do I need a subscription for a small business QR code?
Usually not. A subscription makes sense if you run many codes, need a team console, or want deep analytics. Most small businesses need a few codes that point at a menu, a booking page, a review link, or a product page, and a one-time dynamic code does that without a recurring bill. Buy the platform when you actually want the platform.
Will my small business QR code stop working if I stop paying?
It depends on the tool. With Graklink, no: a printed code never stops redirecting for a billing event. QR Tiger's own FAQ says a dynamic code stops working when the plan expires. Uniqode deactivates dynamic codes on cancel (a scan hits an error page); its TQRCG keeps up to two alive but plays a 3-second ad first. Bitly keeps redirecting but locks editing and tracking behind the paid plan. Read the terms before you print.
What is the cheapest way for a small business to get a few QR codes?
Buying them once. Graklink bulk pricing is $5.99 each for 2 to 9 codes, $4.99 for 10 to 24, and $3.99 at 25 and up, with the design charged once for the batch. Three codes cost about $18 one time versus a subscription that repeats every year the codes are in use.
Are free QR codes good enough for a small business?
For a code whose destination never changes, yes: a free static code from QR Code Monkey or Graklink is genuinely free and never expires. The catch is that a static code cannot be edited after printing, so if the link ever changes, every printed code is dead. Most free dynamic codes are free to create and then stop working or lose features unless you keep paying, so read the terms first.
